Toyserkan rugs are a scarce tribal rug made by weavers in the village of Toyserkan, surrounded by the Zagros mountains in western Iran. They are well known for their high quality craftsmanship. The woollen yarn from local sheep is hardy and strong, providing a durable surface and beautiful colour scale with a soft and silk-like sheen. Patterns are mostly geometric, with floral motifs also present.
